Job Description:

This position is responsible for implementing the Community Life Activities Assistant program for residents according to each resident’s assessment and service plan, abilities, needs, and interests.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.

Other: Must be 18 years of age or older

Must have excellent planning, organizational and time management skills

Must have excellent communications skills

Must be flexible and a team worker

Responsible: Works independently, a safe and appropriate manner, in accordance with safety and organizational policies and procedures. Demonstrates both problem solving/problem prevention skills equal to the expected level of responsibility for their job.

Sensitive: Treats others with consideration, courtesy, and respect.

Timely: Completes assignments within allotted time, taking into consideration residents’ needs.

General Activity Provision Suggest activities to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, occupational, and social needs of residents

Assist Resident Engagement Director in posting monthly and daily Engagement calendar of regular and special events

Be knowledgeable of each resident’s assessment and service plan

Coordinate and facilitate programs with volunteers when necessary

Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of residents and their families

Language Skills:

Ability to read and write fluent English

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from residents, families, employees

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to use problem-solving skills to assess variables in standard situations

Ability to use critical thinking and common sense in understanding standard situations

Ability to interpret and communicate a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
